2010 Volunteer of the Year – Kelly Finger

Kelly Finger

Kelly Finger had more nominations than any volunteer in the past, which says a lot. The nominations all noted that Kelly volunteers anywhere from 24-30 hours each week operating the Rockford Food Shelf on behalf of the Riverworks  Community Organization.

Kelly has taken on the operations of the food shelf whole heartedly. Kelly visited other food shelves to learn how they operated before the Rockford Food shelf opened. Kelly puts in many hours organizing volunteers, coordinating food drives, deliveries and working the hours the food shelf is open.

Kelly is known for her generous spirit and warm personality and treats all of the clientele with respect.

Kelly is also very active in other community events planned by the Riverworks organization.

On behalf of the Rockford Area we thank Kelly Finger and recognize her as the volunteer of 2010. Kelly is a great example of a volunteer and makes the community a better place to live.
