Municipal Compost Site – set to close the morning of Monday, November 5th

City of Rockford residents – the compost site located on County Road 33 (Elm Street) is set to close the morning of Monday, November 5th.  This weekend the municipal compost site will be open for the City of Rockford residents.  ONLY compost material originating from within the city limits shall be accepted at the municipal compost site.  There shall be no fee for the City of Rockford residents to use the municipal site, and no charge to pick-up finished material when available.

No Dumping Allowed – items accepted:  grass clippings, leaves and brush no larger than 3″ diameter.

All bags used to transport composting must be removed.

No tree/lawn care business compost material allowed.

Violation(s) of this ordinance may be punishable by a fine not to exceed $700 or by imprisonment.
