Rocktoberfest – Saturday, October 7th starting at 4pm…see the All Star Line-Up

Welcome to Rocktober! It’s Rockweek, with Rocktoberfest II this Saturday – just a short six days away. We will have a few posts this week with updates on this free community concert, but here are some initial thoughts and updates as we get ready for a great event!

The schedule for the bands at this point has Shane Martin starting us off at 4:00 p.m., with Kat Perkins at 5:30, Jesse Larson at 7, and Chris Hawkey taking the stage at 8:30. We will feature two stages this year to keep the music going, which means less time between sets for set-up and take-down.

We ask that you not bring in outside food and beverages, as the proceeds from food sales and the 50/50 raffle go to support the Rockford Fire Auxiliary and Fire Department, and proceeds from the beer garden support the Rockford Area Historical Society.

The weather looks like it will be great (knock on wood), but we will have a bon fire area and heaters under the park shelter wings in case the weather decides not to cooperate.

We are anticipating a great turnout. With that said (or written), we will again recommend people use the free shuttle to and from Riverside Park during the event. There will be free parking at the Rockford City Center Mall, with a free shuttle that will bring people to and from the concert.

We will be preparing the park all week for the event and will post updates as we move closer to the show. See ya this Saturday!
