licenses are up for renewal on June 30, 2010
The license fee
for dogs is $18.00 or $12.00 if the dog is spayed or neutered. You may obtain your license at city hall, our
office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
When you apply for a dog license the city requires that you submit a
receipt or statement from the veterinarian stating that your dog has had the
rabies vaccination.
The dog license is
good for a period of two years. The current licensing period is from July 1,
2010 – June 30, 2012.
City staff would like to remind residents of the City’s Dog Ordinance 501.
Section 501.05 “Licensed Required” The city requires all dogs over the age of six (6) months of age be licensed. The license fee for dogs is $18.00 or $12.00 if the dog is spayed or neutered. The license is in effect for two years
If your dog is picked-up by the city, and has not been licensed the owner will be required to pay a double license fee and an impound fee of $30.00 per dog for the first impound within twelve months and $45.00 for every impoundment thereafter within twelve months, PLUS actual boarding fees and impoundment costs of the kennel where the animal is kept.

Section 501.02 “Running at Large” A dog is at large when it is off the property of its owner and is not under restraint.
Section 501.01, subdivision 2. “Restraint” (Leash) A dog is under restraint when it is controlled by a leash not exceeding six feet in length.
Section 501.14, “Barking” This ordinance prohibits "the keeping of any dog which habitually barks, howls or bays so as to annoy other persons."
Section 501.13 “Kennel” No person shall own, harbor, keep or have custody of more than two dogs over the age of six months old on their property without having first secured a private kennel license.
