Christmas Tree Pick-Up – Wednesday, January 10, 2018

If you would like to have your tree picked-up, you MUST call City Hall by noon on Friday, January 5, 2018 to sign-up.

The cost is $10 and will be billed to your Waste Management account.  Trees need to be to the curb by 7am the day of the pick-up (just like garbage and recycling).

SEEKING Warming House Attendants for the skating season

Warming House Attendants

The City of Rockford is seeking warming house attendants for this skating season. The attendant will oversee and maintain the warming house and skating area ensuring it is clean and safe.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old with valid drivers license

Ability to communicate effectively with the general public

Salary: $10.00-$11.00 per hour DOQ

Deadline for applications is Tuesday, December 5, 2017.

Compost Site Closed for the Season

The compost site is closed for the season.

Reminder – ONLY compost material originating
from within the city limits
shall be accepted at the municipal site.
No Dumping Allowed – items accepted:  grass clippings, leaves and brush no
large than 3” diameter.  All bags used to transport composting must be
removed.  No tree/lawn care business compost material allowed.  There
shall be no fee for Rockford residents to use the municipal site, and no
charge to pick-up finished compost material when available.  Violation(s)
of this ordinance may be punishable by a fine not to exceed $700 or by
imprisonment.

Hydrant Flushing – Tuesday, October 24, 2017 starting at 2am until completion

The City of Rockford will be flushing hydrants on Tuesday, October 24th starting at 2am until completion.  IF the weather is bad, flushing will be delayed to the next day.

Residents may experience low water pressure and discoloration to water.  It is recommended that you DO NOT wash clothing during this time period.
