HRA

The Rockford Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) plays an important role in the City of Rockford. The HRA has authority to borrow money, acquire property, and operate housing projects as per MN Statutes 462. The Rockford HRA is made up of five members which are the same as the city council. The HRA meets quarterly on the 4th Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City hall.

The HRA provides No Interest Loans to businesses, obtains grants for the B3 Business Program, hired consultants to prepare a market study for a grocer and retail opportunities. The HRA recently approved a senior housing study to be completed to determine whether there is a need for senior housing in Rockford. The HRA fund also finances an Economic Development Consultant who has provides assistance for businesses, contacts potential developers on behalf of the city and markets available property, etc.
