City of Rockford Seeks a new member for the Planning
Commission
The City of Rockford has a vacancy on
the Planning and Zoning commission. This
position will fill the vacancy for the remainder of 2008 and could possibly be
renewed for a three (3) year term thereafter.
The planning commission is responsible for reviewing development plans
and zoning issues as required by the city ordinance. The planning commission holds public
hearings, which allows affected residents the opportunity to provide input on
development applications. The planning
commission also works on updating the comprehensive plan, amending city
ordinances and makes recommendations to the city council for final approval.
Please submit your request
to be on the commission by April 4, 2008.
The City will provide some
training. The meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month and also on
the fourth Thursday during the construction season.
The City compensates the
planning commissioner’s $30 per meeting at the end of each year.
If you are interested in
serving on the planning commission, please contact Kris Linquist at City Hall
