Parlor
This room is, historically speaking, one of the most exciting rooms in the house. We know for sure that this room is basically unchanged from when the Ames family built the house and lived here. The organ is always a conversation piece. It comes from the Stork family and dates about 1904. It is a reed organ and is in great working order. It is used at our Christmas Gala to sing Christmas Carols. The grandfather clock is unusual in that it has wooden works. The Floridas purchased it from the Dearborn family at an auction for $5!
The majority of the windows in the house still contain their original glass. The parlor has the best light to view this. You can still see the waves in the glass. It reads "W. P. Lucas, Feb. 30th, 1878." This is interesting, since of course February has only 28 days, 29 during leap year!
