The City of Rockford is looking for a dedicated, self-motivated and detail oriented individual to join our team as our Finance and Payroll Manager. This position is primarily responsible for the daily accounting functions of the City that include cash management, budgeting, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, accounts payable and benefits administration.
Minimum requirements or this position include a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field; experience with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll, and two or more years of experience in the accounting field.
Preferred qualifications include experience working in Municipal Finance, experience with the Banyon software accounting system, experience preparing budgets and capital asset planning, and experience in managing insurance and Employee Benefits.
The hiring range for this position is $74,200 to $81,250 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This position also comes with excellent medical, dental and life insurance benefits, as well as competitive vacation time and matching contributions to the PERA retirement program.
